Final Furniture: Woodworking by Bruce Mosher
I have built a number tables out of wood from the forks of trees. It takes a long time to capture the grain on one (mostly) flat plane, but it's worth it. This table is in Black Walnut & stands very tall - for placement behind a couch. The legs are made from the same board as the top, & the braces are solid brass (custom made for the table).
